Biography
Sridhar (Sri) Krishnan received the B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Madras, India, in 1993, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1996 and 1999 respectively. He is currently the Assistant Chair and Program Director for Research and Graduate Studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Sri Krishnan is affiliated to the Signal and Multimedia Processing, and Biomedical Engineering Research Groups at Ryerson, and his research interests include adaptive signal processing, biomedical signal/image analysis, and multimedia processing and communications. His research sponsors are Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), MICRONET, Communications and Information Technology Ontario (CITO), VitalSines International Inc., Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR), IPMG, and Ryerson University. He collaborates with National Research Laboratories, local industries, and hospitals.
He is the University Co-ordinator for MICRONET, network of centres of excellence, serves in the Editorial Board of the IEEE Journal on Oceanic Engineering, session chairs and serves in the Conference Committees of IEEE ICME, IEEE CWWC, IASTED SIP, IASTED SPPRA, DCDIS, and ISSPA. He is an active reviewer and panel member of various IEEE journals, conferences, granting agencies, scholarship agencies, PEO exams, and high school organizations. He is the Founder and General Chairman of the International Conference for Upcoming Engineers (ICUE) hosted annually by the IEEE student branch of Ryerson University. He became the chair of the Signals and Applications Chapter in October 2003. Effective, August 2005, he is the chair of the realigned Signal Processing Chapter. Sri is a Senior Member of IEEE.
