IEEE Toronto is a community for electrical and computer engineers and related professions. We

  • hold professional/technical meetings, tutorials, conferences, etc. for our members and guests
  • actively support education through our network of student branches and scholarships
  • enhance our local activities with products and services from IEEE Canada and IEEE worldwide
  • recognize excellence through our awards program
  • Please explore our web site for more information about participating.

With approximately 4000 members in the local area, 17 technical chapters, 4 affinity groups, many student branches at our educational institutions and more than 50 yearly events, we are very active in serving the electrical engineering professionals at all levels.

Geographic Area
The Toronto Section encompasses a wide area that includes much more than the City of Toronto.   The Section bylaws define these additional areas as: Brampton, Mississauga, Woodbridge, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Stouffville, Markham, Ajax, Pickering, Oakville, Oshawa, North Bay, Sudbury, Saulte Ste Marie, and the surrounding areas of these cities, with the further provision that an individual member within any of these locations may elect to be listed under a neighbouring Section, if he or she so desires because of a close affinity between personal technical areas of interest and the established activities of such neighbouring Section.   Within any of the neighbouring Sections, an individual member can elect to be listed under the Toronto Section.

For any questions or concerns regarding the IEEE in and around Toronto, do not hesitate to get in touch with our volunteers.
