IEEE Toronto Inter-Society Distinguished Lecture Day
The IEEE Toronto Section, together with the Communications Society (ComSoc), Vehicular Technology Society (VTS), and Signal Processing Society (SPS) Chapters, proudly hosted the Inter-Society Distinguished Lecture Day, a day of innovation, insights, and interdisciplinary dialogue, at Toronto Metropolitan University on June 2, 2025.
This one-day event brought together eight DLs, Selin Aviyente, Jelena Misic, Shahrokh Valaee, Dongmei Zhao, Hina Tabassum, Ping Wang, Fatima Hussein, and Lian Zhao, showcasing cutting-edge research and insights across multiple domains, such as multilayer networks, self-supervised Wi-Fi sensing, semantic communications with diffusion models, digital twin networks for vehicle platoons, pervasive intelligence in 6G systems, and emerging cybersecurity threats.
These talks reflected the latest advances at the intersection of vehicular networks, communication systems, and intelligent processing. The event served as a dynamic forum to explore state-of-the-art technologies, foster cross-society collaboration, and engage attendees in forward-thinking discussions. Participants had the opportunity to connect with thought leaders and learn about emerging technologies shaping the future.
We extend our sincere thanks to all speakers, participants, and organizing volunteers for making this event a resounding success!
