Biography

Mehrnaz Shokrollahi received the B.E. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and M.A.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ryerson University in 2009 and 2015 respectively. She is currently a Postdoctoral fellow at University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Mehrnaz is affiliated to Sleep Research at University of Toronto, and her research interests include advanced signal processing, and biomedical signal analysis, including sleep and brain signals. Her Postdoctoral fellowship research has been sponsored by MITACS and AGE-WELL; and her achievements as a student are recognized through prestigious scholarships and awards, including, the Graduate Research Excellence award (2013) the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarships in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST). She has been also awarded the Ryerson Graduate award for many consecutive years.

Mehrnaz has been active in professional activities, serving as a vice chair of IEEE Toronto Signal Processing Section from 2009 – 2015, in addition to serving as local arrangement chair, publication committee coordinator and technical committee member for several IEEE conferences including the Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE) 2014, International Conference for Upcoming Engineer (ICUE 2011), Toronto International Conference-Science and Technology for Humanity (TIC-STH) 2009 and Canadian Conference for Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE) 2008. In 2012 she was the General Chair for ICUE. Effective, January 2016, she is the chair of the Signal Processing Chapter, Toronto Section.
