Biography

Mahdi graduated with MSc at the University of Tehran high voltage lab in 2011. Mahdi joined HVEL of the University of Waterloo as a PhD student in 2011 to get involved in the most advanced research and development process. At HVEL there is ample opportunity to perform novel experiments with accurate and high-tech equipment. Working here under the supervision of Dr. Shesha Jayaram and Dr. Edward Cherney, who are well known experts in the field of high voltage engineering, he has worked in advanced high voltage power electronics. His research topic was Effects of High-Frequency Distortions on the Performance of Renewable Energy Plant Transformers. He published several paper on partial discharge testing and transformer diagnostics.
