Dalia Hanna, PhD, P.Eng., PMP
Dr. Dalia Hanna has a PhD in Computer Science from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), an M.Sc. in Instructional Design and Technology specializing in Online Learning from Walden University and a B.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cairo University. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP®), a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.), a certified Prosci® (Adkar) Change Management Practitioner and certified as an internal auditor for the ISO9000 quality standards. Dalia also obtained a certification in Women in Education Leadership from Harvard University.
Dalia is currently an Associate Dean at Sheridan College. In this role, she provides academic leadership to faculty and staff in resource planning, management, academic excellence, and innovation in teaching and learning. She also develops and implements strategic plans to streamline the academic planning process of the college in coordination with the senior leadership team.
Earlier, she held several roles in program management, faculty development, adult education, marketing and international affairs. She has been teaching and working in higher education institutions for over 18 years, which is part of her 30 years of experience in business and academic institutions.
Dalia is an adjunct faculty with the College of Technology and Engineering at Westcliff University. In this capacity, she teaches courses in the Master of Information Technology program on Project management and Business Architecture and Organizational Transformation. She also teaches several courses in professional communications with TMU as a part-time faculty. Dalia is also a Yeates School of Graduate Studies member at TMU, supervising Ph.D. and Master’s students.
Dalia is a relationship and community builder; she currently chairs the City of Toronto’s Senior Services and Long-Term Advisory Committee. She also developed relationships with many industry and community partners to provide educational programming and experiential learning opportunities for students.
Her research interest is in utilizing drones for public safety and for search and rescue operations. She authored several research papers and presented at national and international IEEE conferences. In addition, Dalia has several research papers and publications in educational technology, project management, continuing education and online teaching and learning. She is an award winner researcher, and her research was featured in many scientific and public outlets. She received many grants and awards to support her research.
Dalia enjoys travelling with her family and exploring exciting parts of the world. She visited many countries, including Greece, Italy, Germany, England, France, UAE, Egypt, where she was born and raised, and many more. Recently, she participated in a humanitarian trip to Namibia to support underprivileged communities.
